SHELF LAMP
For Dd [David design furniture]
BY ANDREAS ENGESVIK

David design, the classic contemporary Scandinavian furniture manufacturer, is enjoying rebirth with new management, new designers and new products. Andreas Engesvik has been selected as one of the new designers along with fellow internationally renowned designers; Claesson Koivisto Rune, Richard Hutten, Luca Nichetto, Benjamin Hubert, Inga Sempé, Staffan Holm and Cate & Nelson.

During the International furniture fair in Stockholm, Andreas Engesvik, Oslo will be launching Shelf Lamp for David design furniture. As the name suggests, the small lamp is meant for shelves. It gives light to the surrounding planes and defines the volume of the shelf itself. The lamp brings light onto a shelf structure and allows a change in modus in comparison with the rest of the shelves containing books etc. Low tech diffusion of the light, along with archetypical shapes and elements, creates a mystical apperance.

Shelf Lamp will be launched at:

ROOF MIRROR – By Andreas Engesvik

Andreas Engesvik, Oslo are participating in Work in Progress – Ideas, Prototypes & Processes – Designers tell the stories behind their new work.

The Roof Mirror brings to mind elements and structures from architecture and facades. This addition directs a new type of appearance into the physical room. It brings together familiar features of our physical surroundings – through the use of archetypal geometric forms. The interplay with the roof and the reflective surface of the mirror creates a distinct inner space for the user.

Disegno invites you to the opening of Work in Progress and to celebrate the launch of Disegno No. 1 – a biannual on architecture, design and fashion at the construction site of MOOD Stockholm, Regeringsgatan 48.

Sketch of door for SnP

STUDIO – for SnP [Snickarper]– By Andreas Engesvik

With this new series of doors the purpose has been to create a door program that can be developed into a large family of exterior doors and to find a theme that combines function, features, materials and form of expression.

Studio is a series of doors built as the house itself — with windows, a ceiling and a wall with a recognizable and distinct expression. Components such as door bell, house number and lightning has also been integrated into the design. The range offers various programs for colors, materials and configuration.

The manufacturer – SnickarPer has represented quality and craftsmanship building front doors for over 60 years. SnP are also showing new doors designed by Stina Sandwall, Jonas Lindvall and Bjørn Dahlstrøm.

Studio will be launched at:
SnP at Stand A 41:45 + A 41:49 Stockholm International Furniture Fair

Allas candelabrum

ALLAS – For Iittala – By Andreas Engesvik

International launch january 2012

Allas, designed for Ittala by Andreas Engesvik – as Iittalas first Norwegian designer ever, is a modern take on a traditional candelabrum. The Pool creates a relaxed atmosphere to gather around. It provides a strong light source for the interior decoration of your home and evenings in with friends. Engesvik creates a surprising combination between the light flames of candles and the heaviness of cast iron.

The Pool candelabrum measures 26 centimetres in diameter and is designed for six candles, each set at a different height. The look of the candelabrum changes with different candles. Various, even daring, colour combinations can be used to create an edgy, three-dimensional feel. Cast iron is a safe material for holding candles, and the three wool pads at the bottom of the pool make the candelabrum sturdy while protecting the surface of the table.
